I bought this site several months ago, but I never actually took action with it due to 1) lack of experience with PPC and 2) focused on other more profitable ventures on top of my full-time job. I'm currently actually being placed in a management position and it's consuming A LOT of my time as I try and get everything together.
The previous owner made $2000/month (screenshots attached). I bought the website several months ago, and I can see that it has - at the very least - maintained a PageRank 2 still after all the negligence on my part.
The previous owner was using "Yahoo Sponsored Listings." I'm assuming this means Yahoo PPC, and I planned on moving to Google PPC as well to expand. However, I never actually had the time, and I've had bad experiences with PPC (Google Quality Score still low on my entire AdWords account). I was GOING to hire a PPC expert to teach me the ropes, but I never got around to it. Due to the fact that I've neglected this site, and the previous owner has most likely taken down his PPC ads, this is the reason I am going to sell this for much less than I bought it for. As such, I am presenting this as more of a business oppurtunity than an established business. Since there's still the possibility you can make this $2000/month back with a quick PPC campaign (and more with the business plan which I will explain), I don't want to list this anywhere else as someone might run away with a bargain deal and this site could be worth a ton.
The site sells a 300+ page e-book on how to obtain government grants. This isn't one of those 30 page e-books that was whipped up in a day.
Along with your purchase, you will also be presented with a business plan which will detail all keywords, advertising mediums, how to expand the business, etc. Just so you understand how huge this market is, I'm going to let you in on one of the advertising mediums you can use: FACEBOOK. Hmm...college students + grants? A re-done (but untested) sales page will also be included. The re-done sales page uses my regular sales page formula which typically converts 1-1.5% on average and has converted up to 3%. If you know anything about marketing, this is very high.
For security, I'd like to go through Escrow. This would be best for anyone with a grasp of PPC or SEO. Just realize there's still some risk involved. Due to the nature of the situation, I will not be asking for the "industry standard" selling price here, but I will see how it goes. If the PPC campaign DOES turn out well, the buyer will probably end up with quite a bargain. However, it's been a while and I have no idea if any new competition has arisen, etc. due to my lack of knowledge with PPC.
